It all started during the pandemic.

First, there was the global economic downturn. And signs that the climate was benefitting from so many of us being at home. Then there was the racial reckoning.

I sent an email to my friends asking where they donate. And most of them wrote back saying "Please help! I have no idea what I'm doing with donating!"

So I did a private podcast with 8 episodes for friends and family on the topic of giving back. And the response was positive!

But giving back didn't feel like enough.

I started to wonder about my retirement accounts. And I realized that I was investing in companies that are working against my basic beliefs. I was shopping at companies who donate to politicians that I would never vote for.

And that's when this podcast was born.

Progressive Pockets sits at the intersection of social impact and personal finance.

The 100+ episodes are concise, practical, sometimes funny, and cover questions of how we might spend, donate, and invest more in line with our values. Whatever keeps you up at night- homelessness, the gender wage gap, climate change, racial inequity... there might be some ways that we can line up what we're doing with our money on a daily basis and the type of world we'd like to help create.
